14. Draft BID Proposal
Has the partnership produced a draft BID proposal based on the views of businesses in the local area?
Five to seven months before ballot
  • This is the opportunity to do a ‘dress rehearsal’ for the final BID proposal
  • It should take the form of a consultation document aimed at ensuring ownership by the local business community and should use information gained from the perception analysis to form the basis of this document
  • Include all of the main sections that will feature in the final proposal but bear in mind that businesses are being asked for their views – if they want to see amendments, consider these seriously and take them on board wherever possible
  • A full consultation process should be undertaken to ensure commitment to the concept and draft proposal
  • Many businesses look for voluntary contributions from property owners as part of the proposals for a BID.
